Mosaic Sculpture Completed for the Fly Arts Center!

Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunts, daughters and friends.

Zephyr Art has been working with our artist friends, Pippa Browne and Sherri Warner Hunter, members of the Bedford County Arts Council and various members of the community on a mosaic sculpture for Women's History Month at the Fly Arts Center. The Bedford County community, and those with ties to Bedford County, joined in the creation by donating tesserea for the sculpture in the form of buttons, jewelry, utensils, beads and other memorabilia that represents women in their lives. Community members of all kinds came together to apply tile and grout, knick knacks and notions to create this 8 foot art piece. We want to say THANK YOU to all those who helped!!

Thanks again to our good, good friends, Pippa Browne and Sherri Warner Hunter! We did it, guys!!

Photos and items were donated from all over our community.
This is Julie's great grandmother and great great aunt.
In February 'Vision, Action, Prayer: A Women's History Month Sculpture' was completed, just in time for Women's History Month!

The sculpture now stands in the Fly Arts Center's art gallery.
Zephyr Art breathes a sigh as we leave these ladies in their new home :)
